OSM Nigerian cadets onboard Venturer

The first 2 Nigerian deck cadets from the cooperation agreement between OSM and Lofoten Studie- og Høyskolesenter, are now onboard Venturer, a seismic vessel from GC Rieber Shipping AS.

OSM has agreed to take 6 Nigerian engine or deck cadets from the Norwegian school to help these cadets to obtain enough experience and sea service in order for them to get their deck watch keeping certificates issued. In practical terms, this means to be at least 2 months onboard a vessel.

GC Rieber Shipping / CGGveritas have kindly agreed to take 2 of those deck cadets onboard one of their vessels. Venturer is now working outside Gabon. As per today these 2 Nigerian cadets are planned to stay onboard until 10th of June.

Depending on their current performance, OSM will then decide if they will continue to work afterwards within their fleet.
