With the 2015 Day of the seafarer fast approaching we are asking our team members to play an active part in this years International Maritime Organization Day of the Seafarer Campaign.

They say 90% of all goods are transported by sea, a staggering number that is only possible thanks to the hard work and dedication of the world’s estimated 1.5 million seafarers.

To honor this dedication, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) has spearheaded an annual global campaign celebrating the Day of the Seafarer, an official United Nations international observance day held each year on June 25.

For this year’s campaign, the IMO has invited the world’s seafarers to tell their stories of life at sea.  This way seafarers can act as ambassadors of their own industry and inspire others to consider a career at sea.

Like the IMO, OSM Maritime Group is passionate about recognizing the important work of our seafarers.  So let’s join the IMO in their efforts to increase appreciation for the work of our seafarers.

To participate, we are asking our seafarers to submit a picture and short description of what is it you love about working at sea?  Make sure to include your name and the vessel on which you work/worked!

Head over to our Facebook & Twitter Pages, or whichever social media platform you prefer, and share your thoughts by using the hashtag #CareeratSea and hit at us using @OSM_Maritime.

If you prefer to use Email for your submission please email kayla.franey@osm.no. Be sure to include your full name, the vessel on which you worked/work.
