The naming of the PSV «KL Barentsfjord» in Arendal, Norway was a significant and historic marking both for Arendal and OSM.

The naming ceremony at the docks in the middle of the city, gathered 160 invited guests and a whole lot of interested citizens, as the vessel was open for public after the official naming ceremony.

With OSM and ¨K¨ Line Offshores main offices in Arendal, it was only natural that the naming ceremony for the PSV vessel «KL Barentsfjord» was done by the central city docks, «Pollen». A grand event for Arendal seeing it’s last naming ceremony in the city in the late 1950ies.

The vessel is a Platform Supply Vessel (PSV) owned by ¨K¨ Line Offshore.

OSM has followed the building and completion of the vessel since contract was signed in September 2008.

- The completion of the last of the six ¨K¨ Line vessels has been a large and extensive project. This is a important and significant day for us, says Morten Mellerud, Managing Director OSM Consultants.

OSM will have full management of the vessel, which will have a crew complement of 14 officers and crew.

- «KL Barentsfjord» will do enter a two-year time charter to ConocoPhillips, with option for further two years, says John Hough, Managing Director OSM Ship Management.

The PSV is equipped for efficient carriage and handling of deck cargoes, pipes, dry bulk, fuel, fresh water, mud, methanol and drilling fluids to platforms and offshore installations.

OSM Arendal has full management of a total of 7 vessels from ¨K¨ Line Offshore.

- These are all high quality vessels, and we are proud to be responsible for the management, says Hough.
