The jackup accommodation rig «Haven» is presently at winterly Eydehavn outside Arendal, Norway for completion.
The 50 meters wide and 120 meters long jackup is really a landmark in the narrow Tromøysundet with the four legs high in the water. The cold winter weather has given us ice in the fjord and bubble system is arranged at each of the four legs to avoid problems with ice around the legs.
Presently there is high activity onboard for completion, commissioning and certification administered by Master Marine AS as owner; and preparation for operation administered by OSM Offshore AS. The jackup is standing on the bottom and elevated well above water level.
«Haven» can accommodate 447 persons in single cabins and 30 visitors. There is workshop and laydown facilities and office facilities arranged onboard.
«Haven» will leave Eydehavn for her first charter party to ConocoPhillips in Norway as hotel platform at Ekofisk in April. The charter party is for 3 years plus options.
For the Ekofisk operation there will be high activity at helicopter deck with expected 5.000 landings and takeoffs per year for flights to/from Stavanger and shuttle flights between platforms offshore.
Specially for the Ekofisk operation there is built and mounted a large foundation under each jackup leg. Each of the four foundations are 21 meters diameter and 6 meters high, 600 tonn weight . These foundations shall ensure «Haven» as a stable and solid platform even in case of 10.000 year waves at Ekofisk field in the North Sea with 72 m water depth.
Marine crew have been at Eydehavn since August following the completion of the jackup, familiarization, training and preparation for operation. The marine crew take over operation of the systems onboard one by one when the various systems are completed.
