29 June the naming ceremony of 4300 units PCTC-04 was held at the Nantong Mingde shipyard in China.

The ship owner is Gram Car Carriers (GCC). The ceremony was hosted by Zhu Hongbing, General Manager of the shipyard.

Julie Blystad was the godmother of 4300 units PCTC-04, named the vessel «MV Viking Diamond» and broke the bottle of champagne. She is the daughter of Arne Blystad, major shareholder and board member in GCC.

There were almost 100 attendees taking part in the ceremony including owner, trading house, class, banks and guests from all over the world and the related persons from the shipyard.

They all celebrated the naming of this vessel and thanked for the endeavor contributed by the friends of all circles, site team and workers of shipyard.

The whole vessel is divided into 428 blocks with 12 car decks. This vessel is the first car carrier which applied single beam and flexible design in the world. It could arrange the fixed ramps to the maximum degree of freedom and lower the barriers for transportation which will make better use of deck area and space for loading the vehicles.

The particulars of 4300 units PCTC-04 are as follows: Length 164.8 m, width 28 m, depth 30.09 m, draft 8.04 m and design speed 18 knots. The main engine is a MAN 7S50ME-C MK7 diesel engine.
