On the 6th of January MV «Samudera Bangsa» was taken under OSM Singapore management at Yura Shipyard, Japan.

The vessel is a Panamax bulk carrier with the following particulars: length overall 225 mtrs, beam 32,20 mtrs, depth 13,52 mtrs, DWT 72.421.00 MT. The grain capacity is 84.790 m3. The vessel’s flag has been changed from Panama to Singapore Flag State Registry.

On the 7th of January the vessel cleared various surveys and audits while the crew were running about attending to numerous matters pertaining to the vessels change of name, owners, managers and flag. Other than that, the vessel was stored up in preparation for putting the vessel to work.

The vessel is commanded by Capt. M.K. Ahsan and he is supported by a crew of 22. The entire crew on board are from Bangladesh. General Manager of OSM Singapore, Capt. Rajan Mathrani personally attended to the take over of this vessel and stated:

«Samudera Bangsa» shall remain alongside the wharf at Yura awaiting her first work orders.
