TRAINING LOCAL TALENT IN ANGOLA
OSM Training extends commitment to local community and offers Maritime Training to local Angolan residents.

OSM Training extends commitment to local community and offers Maritime Training to local Angolan residents.

“The local content requirement in Angola is 70% local staffing, which is challenging to reach because the competency level of Angolan citizens has to match the high standards required to man the vessels we supply crew to”, says Diogo Santos, General Manager of OSM Angola, and continues; “accordingly, we are in the process of developing a plan which focuses on training local talent”.

The training supplied has been developed by STC-SA (Pty) Ltd and covers all aspects of Maritime Training including: Human Resource Development, Consultancy, Technical Assistance and Research.

Commenting on the course, Diogo said: “We are committed to helping those within our community to improve their prospects, by gaining valued qualifications.  The training provided by STC-SA is a very proactive way of bringing qualified professionals into the industry.  It allows us to give back to our community and support our clients with the best crew possible.”
