ENGINE ROOM BASICS

SCOPE

The course is basically consisting of lectures on basic engine concept, its critical parts and various auxiliary operating system needed in order to attain operational status of the main propulsion engine. This include exercises based on the ship’s machinery installation, operation and troubleshooting carried-out through the use of an engine room simulator

Current legislation pertaining to MARPOL Annex VI (NoX, SoX and ECA areas), making correct entry in the Oil Record Book Part 1 will also be discuss.

The course is intended to all NSA engine cadets who have just completed their on board apprenticeship and those recently passed OIC who were destined for promotion.
